This boat turns beautifully but will track straight if you want it to. It’s surprisingly fast (even when loaded). Stability improves with loading, which is fine as we bought it for loaded touring. The lightweight build (Innegra weave) suits us as we’re not getting any younger. A lovely canoe.
Many thanks to Paddle and Portage for making the Wenonah Prospector 16 available. The canoe we have been using for the last 20 years is a custom made Canoe built to use on the Tully River. It is great on white water but is made from fibreglass weighing more than 60 kegs - a bit too heavy for me to lift nowadays. What a breeze to place the Wenonah onto my 4x4 and the first couple of paddles on local lakes gave us the feeling of freedom on the water once again. Oh, what a feeling!!
